Corporate Social Responsibility

Guided by its purpose to “act to accelerate the transition to a carbon-neutral economy”, ENGIE continues to implement its strategy to become the leader in the energy and climate transition. In February 2020, the Group defined objectives for 2030 in order to monitor its CSR performance as closely as possible. These objectives are fully in line with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations for 2030

By acting for a positive impact on people and the planet, the Group will be able to ensure its leadership as a key player in the energy transition and associated services beyond energy while meeting the constraints of a just transition in line with the Paris Agreement on climate change.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Protecting the Environment

ENGIE evolves in a world where environmental issues are multiplying. Risks related to climate change, overexploitation of natural resources including water, biodiversity loss and air pollution are central concerns for the Group and the resilience of its activities. Environment is one of the key CSR issues for a leader in the world of energy and energy services like ENGIE.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Strengthening our Social and Societal commitment

ENGIE Group is increasingly concerned by social and societal issues, which are developing in three areas: enhanced dialogue with stakeholders in every area of its business, human rights in a globalized economy, and the increased responsibility companies bear towards their upstream (suppliers) and downstream (customers) supply chains. ENGIE considers these issues to be risks that could turn into problems but also, and perhaps more importantly, as opportunities to see our business grow through more responsible and sustainable methods.

Corporate Social Responsibility

INDIA

ENGIE India is deeply committed to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability. The company focuses on implementing comprehensive CSR initiatives in the areas of education, health, and well-being. One of the key initiatives is the collaboration with the National Skill Development Corporation of India (NSDC) to train and upskill young individuals as solar module technicians, making them industry-ready by providing training and a platform to meet potential employers through job fairs. Our CSR initiatives aim to empower local communities and foster sustainable growth by providing opportunities for skill development and fostering a culture of inclusivity.

In addition to various CSR initiatives, ENGIE India is committed to supporting the communities where it operates. The company prioritizes employing local talent, with 80% of its staff across all sites recruited from within the local communities. This not only injects valuable skills and knowledge into its operations but also fosters a sense of community partnership.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Community Engagement Programs

Our commitment to sustainability extends to the communities in which we operate. We work closely with local communities through our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs, designed to support social and economic development.

These initiatives include educational programs, health services, and infrastructure development aimed at uplifting the communities. Additionally, we focus on creating employment opportunities, ensuring that our projects contribute to the economic empowerment of the regions where we are active.
