ENGIE awarded 400 MW Solar Project

ENGIE India, a leading provider of low-carbon energy solutions, is pleased to announce its success in winning a 300 MW solar power project. The project was secured under the auction conducted by REC Power Development and Consultancy (RECPDCL) following a competitive bidding process to develop 1,250 MW inter-state transmission system (ISTS) connected solar power projects-Tranche I, at a tariff of Rs 2.55/kWh. The PPA will be signed with NTPC, the off taker for the project.

The project is expected to be commissioned by early 2025. ENGIE will use commercially established and operational technologies to minimize technology risk and ensure timely completion.

As part of the bid conditions, the solar power project can be located anywhere in the country and would be connected to Inter State Transmission network (ISTS), and is anticipated to generate 300 MW of clean energy. With this project, ENGIE India’s portfolio will expand to ~1.5 GW.
